There are many lessons I have learned while doing the humans of laude project, for example the time and effort it takes just to interview someone and to get b-roll as well. I've also learned that working with other people can be challenging and sometimes stressful but fun as well. One other lesson I have learned is that projects like these will be stressful and very difficult because of everything you have to do. In the end it was a good experience and I hope I will do something like this again.
The person i was interviewing was Bob Westerholt. He is a teacher here at ladue, he teaches Psychology, History, Personal Finance, many more. I got to ask him about his teaching experiences here and how he loved teaching different lessons and interacting with the students at Ladue.I Learned that he's a man of many talents when comes to teaching. Also his favorite subject to teach is Psychology because he knows that there's more possibilities out there to research about this subject. I also got ask what he will be doing after he retires after the school year ends. He said that he wants to go back to the resturant business or maybe work a private school or turtor but he's not sure which one he'll be doing. Overall it was a great experience to see what a teacher likes or dislikes about school and how some teachers like Bob Westerholt like teaching more than one subject. I hope get to do more like this one day again in my life because it was fun.
There are many things I that I enjoyed in Broadcast Tech1. Some of the things i enyjoyed was getting to use the TV studio and learning how different sytstems can control and make up a news show. I also learned how much time and commitment is involved. I also enjoyed using Final Cut Pro and learned how to use the different effect. It takes many steps to make and edit a video. Some things I didn't enjoy was how much work, time, and effort it takes and how much patience you have to have in order to make sure you have good content. One of my favorite projects was the six word story because i got to express myself in only six words and it was a lot of fun making it too. There is actually nothing I would have liked to do differently on this project, because I was very happy with the way it turned out. I'm not interested in taking Broadcast Tech II because i think that one experience is enough for me. Overall it was a great experience going form center stage to behind the scenes and learning what it takes to actually make something that's on TV. I hope i can take these skills and use them in everyday life. My Six-Word Story is called ''love is always stronger than hate." I chose this six-word story because of what has been happening in the world the past few months A few examples are the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, school shootings, and all of the political issues happening around our country. Everyone needs to stop hating and spread love to one another so the world can be happy again. Shot #1 was birds eye view, close up shot Shot #2 was an eye level, close up shot Shot #3 was a high angle, birds eye view Shot #4 was a birds eye view, Shot #5 was a close up, birds eye view Shot #6 was a birds eye view I chose these shots because they looked the best and you were able to see the Jewish Star better from above and close up. I learned that shooting and editing takes a long time for meand is not the easiest. I learned how to make a 30 second video and feel confident that I could make another one. SIX-WORD STORIES
*Coffee before art. Goodbye straight lines. —Vinsula *Alzheimer’s Advantage: new friends every day! —Shweta Ghosh *Sandcastle for sale. Limited time offer. —Alison M. My experience with using didgtal HD cameras was very fun but also challenging because i had to learn different types of shots and knowing where to shoot at and if the camera is foucused. Practitcing wide, medium, and tight shots are difficult because you have to foucus the camera at a certian angle and making sure it's the right shot. Editing the circus wagon on final cut pro was very diffcult because I ahd to learn different ways to edit the footage and learning all the steps that went with it. Editing the 6-shots was also difficult because I learned how use audio and how to make sure its in the right space. Also learning different effects and making sure everything is good.
My experience with the TV studio was a good learning experience because i got to learn about what it actually takes to make a TV show. Also how every job has an important role in making the TV show go right and smoothly. I also learned that it's difficult to do some of the jobs like running the TV pormpter or directing. i hope to learn more about the tv studio more and make a tv show. I learned how to use the teleprompter. I learned how to use the mouse wheel on the teleprompter. I ran the morning announcements intro on the AJA computer. While in the studio I listen to the directors instrustions and I heard the floor director. I would liked the AJA machine because it was the easiest for me.
I have created an iMovie before, but I enjoyed using the movie trailer. I learned that making a movie trailer is interesting. We didn't face any challenges. I would have liked to rearrange some of the photos to put more family pictures in my movie.
